It is a very busy month. SANBS support one of its partners - The Sunflower Fund. There is a shortage of bone marrow donors in South Africa. We support them by celebrating Bandana Day in September, when bandanas are sold to raise funds to increase the bone marrow donor base.

As a Proudly South African organisation, we will be supporting all Proudly SA initiatives

The Shri Sathya Sai Baba Organisation celebrates their World Blood Donor Days on the third week Of September with their slogan of "liquid love". This organisation carries out extraordinary community work throughout the year and in the month of September they focus on blood donation - the true liquid love.

In September – there will be a call to “spring” into action.  There is always a critical shortage of O blood over the September - December period. O group is the universal blood group as it is compatible with all other blood groups. Thus it can be used in trauma cases and in rural areas where this precious blood is kept in emergency fridges.
