Welcome to a revitalized South African National Blood Service!
The Board and Executive Management of SANBS wish to thank all blood donors who helped us save lives during the Festive Season. Please continue to give us feedback to ensure continuous improvement of this valuable service to all communities.

Our staff puts extra effort to meet the demands for safe blood donations, processed and supplied efficiently to the hospitals and clinics. We strive to live up to Our Commitment “To be a centre of excellence in the provision of quality blood products and services to patients”

New improvements include a more efficient Transport System to private hospitals, Donation Centres in Soweto, Umlazi and GaRankuwa as well as refurbishments and upgrades of some existing Donation Centres.

Looking forward SANBS will strengthen implementation of policies, programmes and critical projects. We ensure that our Mission Statement: “An Association of Voluntary, Non-Remunerated blood donors, to provide all patients with sufficient, safe, quality blood products and medical services related to blood transfusion in an equitable, cost-effective manner” is achieved.

Transparency of Governance and Operations and accountability to our stakeholders is one of our critical areas of focus.

We wish to acknowledge the support of the media in helping SANBS to communicate and respond to the citizenry of South Africa.
